Priority One
You asked us to tackle anti social problems caused by persons driving modified vehicle in the following areas: Cattlemarket IP33 3DG, Buttermarket IP33 1DA, Cornhill IP33 1DZ, Rougham Hill IP33 2RU, and this is what we have done about it:

Objective
As a result of a number of complaints regarding  the use of and the manner in which they are driven, it has been agreed that Modified vehicle drivers (commonly known as boy racers) need to be tackled in the areas of Cornhill, Buttermarket, Cattlemarket Carpark and Rougham Hill. These problems predominantly occur Thursday to Sunday from 7:00pm till 11:00pm . This has therefore been adopted as a priority and a small problem solving group which will consist of Police, Highways, Car parks, Councillors.
The priority will be reviewed on 16th Demeber 2009 and the aim is to reduce calls regarding this problem from mebers of the public. This priority will not only cover Bury Central but also Bury East/West. 

Update
5th November 2009
A meeting was held which involved various member of the community and responsible authorities and a number of actions have been created. It has been identified that the key times that we are concentrating on will be Thursday to Sunday 7:00pm till 11:00pm in the areas of Rougham Hill, Buttermarket, Cornhill, Parkway and Cattlemarket carpark.
Work will now commence on the identified solutions to these issues and this page will be updated in due course.

23rd November 2009
Letters have been hand delivered to vehicle users in problem areas advising them of the issue and the need to be considerate to local residents and other users. Contact has been made with Suffolk County Council regarding the possibiity of organising a cruise.

16th December 2009
An event took place at the lorry park Rougham Road on saturday 12th December 2009 when approximately 250 vehicles met for a rally. This event was attended by Suffolk police and VOSA and vehicle examinations were carried out on a number of vehicles and drivers dealt with for any offences that were found. The event was successful and did not create any complaints from the public. 

20th January 2010
This matter has remained a priority for the team and was discussed at the SNT tasking meeting today. A joint agency meeting is to be arranged and patrols will continue

17th February 2010
This matter will remain a priority for the next month as agreed with partners and public at the SNT tasking meeting
