Nicholson Lord was born on October 17th 1938 in
Manchester. He has been a
Conservative MP for Suffolk Central and Ipswich North since
1997. He was first elected to the earlier seat of
Central Suffolk in
1983. He has been a deputy Speaker of the House of
Commons since 1997, and therefore does not take political stances
within Parliament . He was given a knighthood in 2001. Before
entering Parliament he was an arboriculturalist.
