Planning Applications C08/0412: The
White House, Martlesham Road - Erection of cartlodge. It was
RESOLVED that there was no objection to this development. C08/0685: Little
Bealings County Primary School, Sandy Lane – Erection of a 0.37m transmission
dish. It was RESOLVED that there
was no objection to this development. C08/0387: Grove Farm, The Street – Use of Land for the Construction of B1 Industrial and Commercial Units (revised scheme): The Clerk reported information from County Councillor Peter Bellfield as follows: · SCC Highways: were not recommending refusal of the application on highways grounds, but would be stating that they would prefer to see a residential development at the site · SCDC: The Case Officer was minded to recommend approval of the application to Development Control Committee. The site was not at a location which allowed approval of residential development under current policy. While the LDF task group was considering more flexibility in the application of policy – and this site may be a suitable one for such flexibility, thereby permitting residential development – the LDF was not yet in place. · Mr Bellfield would speak on the Council’s behalf at the Development Control Committee determining the application, subject to his availability once the date was known, and would also speak to the developer if the Council wished it. It was also noted that SCC considered that the definitive route of Footpath No 18 was obstructed by one of the existing farm buildings. It was RESOLVED that, in view of the informal views of SCC and SCDC and the likelihood that approval would be given for the development,: · the Council would advise SCDC that it supported residential development of the site, despite this being contrary to current policy ·
the Council would ask Mr
Bellfield if he would contact the developer and discuss whether the current
application could be withdrawn and residential development considered again
in view of the Parish Council’s support for it. |
