FUNDING NEWS AND OPPORTUNITIES

 

Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust funding available to young people - Applications from parents / carers on behalf of their child, providing they can answer  ‘yes’ to; Is the young person under the age of 18 yrs? Adolescent Mental Health: Building Resilience event on 8th February at UCS. Full details are available through Suffolk County Council CPD online booking at www.suffolkcpd.co.uk - course code MA 12/047. Keynote speakers will be of national recognition with afternoon workshops: local research, projects & services. Aim of the event is to develop the skills to support young people to have positive mental health and be resilient, to be aware of current research on adolescent brain development and implications for practice, to understand some of the different approaches to working with young people therapeutically and be able to apply the principles in practice, to know about some of the services working with young people and their families in the region and be able to access these when required, to learn about some of the resources and programmes for young people and know how to find out more if needed.

 

Understanding The Tender Process Free Procurement Training - Suffolk County Council is working in partnership with Young Suffolk, SAVO and the Suffolk Children’s Trust Integrated Training Programme, to offer training free of charge about the tender process.   The training is provided to support local organisations to tender for service contracts with Suffolk County Council. The next course is Monday 20th February 2012 at 9.30 to 4.00pm in Ipswich. Places on each workshop may be limited to one per organisation subject to demand. Suffolk Adult Learners Awards 2012 Details about nominations are at www.leap.ac.uk and at www.suffolklearningconsortium.org.uk. All nominations should be received by 4pm on Monday 26 March 2012. OTHER

Volunteers needed!! I Made This is a charity working with young people with learning difficulties Their work involves the use of computers to produce animated films, video documentaries, and music projects. They would like to recruit volunteers to help with this work.  Some knowledge of Mac computers and Final Cut, Logic and Stop Frame Animation software would be an advantage but we will give full training. Home-Start Babergh is a registered local charity, providing confidential  support to families who are suffering difficulties and who have at least one child under 5 years of age.
