Procurement Training about the Tender Process.
Suffolk County Council is working in partnership with SAVO and Young Suffolk to
offer free training to support local organisations to tender for service
contracts with Suffolk County Council. The next available course date (now
taking bookings) is 7th April 2010 at 9.30 to 4.30 at Suffolk County Council,
Endeavour House, Ipswich. Places on this workshop are limited to one person per

Trustee Training 2
day OCN (Open College Network) accredited trustee training programme to learn
all there is to know about the role of trustees in charities. The training will
be delivered by Gill Robinson and Sandra Jarvis. Both days must be completed.

Foundation could help to support your cause. GRASSROOTS GRANTS PROGRAMME
has grants up to £5000 available for core costs and projects. This is a
‘quick decision’ programme for groups with under £30,000 income. For details and

Healthy Ambitions Suffolk programme
has funding available. Small grants from £250 to £900, for groups looking to run
one-off or short-term events or activities; Healthy living grants of up to
£4,000 and large grants of up to £15,000, for researching or introducing larger
projects which address new and emerging health issues. Groups interested should

BBC
Children in Need launch Small Grants Programme Small
grants of £10,000 or less for a maximum of three years now available. The
programme is designed to encourage those who may never have considered applying

Round of the Youth Sector Development Fund Launched.
The
Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) has invited voluntary and
community organisations, charities, social enterprises to bid for a share of the
fund to raise aspirations of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Partnerships with schools and colleges are acceptable but they should focus on
students with low aspirations rather than a whole-year or class approach. Grants
available between £200,000 and £500,000. The closing date 4th February 2010.

Funding
to Promote Financial Inclusion (UK)
The
Friends Provident Foundation makes grants of up to £200,000 to not-for profit
organisations for projects that address financial exclusion within disadvantaged
communities. They will consider applications for work that will make a strategic
contribution to the overall outcome of financial inclusion in the UK. Capital or
revenue funding and core funds or project costs considered. Closing date for
applications is the 12th February 2010.

Funding
to Change Young People's Lives
Organisations
that work with young people, whatever their background, to help them achieve
their potential have the opportunity to apply for funding through The Learning
Launchpad with two stages. Stage one investments of up to £30,000 are suitable
for people or fledgling organisations that are starting out with a new idea.
Stage two investments of up to £100,000 are typically suitable for organisations
or initiatives that are already up and running and want to grow. The next

Children
& The Arts Partner Applications Now Open (UK)
The
Prince's Foundation for Children & the Arts is inviting arts organisations
across the UK to apply to become arts partners for their flagship program
'Start'. They provide funding and practical support to enable arts organisations
across the UK to form partnerships with primary and secondary schools in their
local area. To allow children who have little or no experience of the UK's rich
culture or who may never have been to a play, heard a live piece of classical
music or even visited their local art gallery to experience the very best of the

Individual
Support Grants Available for Disadvantaged Pupils (England)
The e-Learning Foundation has announced funding is still available for
Individual Support Grants. These grants are aimed at individual students from
low income families whose educational opportunities are being limited by their
lack of home access and do not fall under any relevant home access programme.
Schools are invited to identify individual students on whose behalf they would
like to apply for a grant. The grants will be awarded on a "first come first

Sports Relief Awards (UK)
funding
programme funded by Comic Relief, provides opportunities for young people
between 11 and 21 years of age to bring communities together, to help promote
understanding and solve problems through sport, arts and recreational
activities. There are three types of awards. Try It - Offers grants of up to
£1,000 for projects that focus on providing opportunities for young people to
come together and engage in new activities. Shape It - Offers grants of up to
£5,000 for projects that address issues in local communities. Do It - Offers
grants of up to £10,000 for projects that use sport or recreational activities

to Develop Media Skills for Disadvantaged Young People
(England)
Mediabox,
a Department for Children, Schools and Families fund to enable disadvantaged
13-19 year olds living in England the opportunity to develop and produce
creative media projects, using print, television, film, radio or online
platforms, has announced that its Mid Mediabox funding programmes will re-open

Support
for Young Runaways (England) The
Government has announced that they will be launching a new online resource for
teachers, youth workers and all those working with young people to help support
young runaways, helping identify any problems young people are having and prompt
intervention much earlier to give vulnerable young people the professional help
and support they need, this will strengthen the already in place Young Runaways
Action Plan. They also announced funding of up to £100,000 will be made
available through an open competition to voluntary services to provide emergency
accommodation, counselling services and family mediation for young runaways.

The
Joanies Trust (UK)
Registered
charities working with young people aged 11 to 25 are eligible to apply for
grants through the Joanies Trust. To support projects that offer intensive
support to young people as well as those that promote preventative work, and
especially those that are designed to lead to individual development through
integration, work opportunities or accreditation. The next deadline for

The
Prince’s Trust Team Programme of
twelve weeks that will change your life! Earn a City & Guilds Award and
Certificate in Personal Development and Contributing to the Community. 16-25
year olds can sign up for FREE and this will not affect Jobseeker's Allowance.
The programme will help you find a fresh direction by developing the skills
needed for success at work or in education. Team members work together on a
residential team building week. Taster days 20 and 21 January 2010. Course

Making
a Positive Contribution Children
Matter East through the VCS Engage Programme has commissioned research in the
region that will Map the contribution the VCS makes toward Children Trusts and
their partners. They are eager to hear from VCS organisations who may be
delivering the following services: Tackling social exclusion ; Encouraging
community involvement & building safer and stronger communities ; Tackling

Network
Rail's ‘NO MESSIN' programme is
offering groups the chance to win £200 and an all expenses paid residential. You
need to identify a problem such as young people getting bored and ending up
playing in dangerous places, or get pushed around by an older group, then come
up with a project that solves it! This could include the chance to play a sport
or other things to do locally. This is your group's chance to get up to £200 to
turn your idea into reality, and to go on a three-day residential training
course with other teams. The training will help make your project a success as
your group learns skills in teamwork, problem-solving and communication. For
