The Nacton Sewerage Scheme
Nacton will get it's own sewerage
scheme sometime between 2010 and 2012. Anglia Water have already
completed the Appraisal and Nacton fulfills the criteria as
laid down by a 1996Act of Parliament. Only 50% of applications get
through this stage.
The work has yet to be financially approved by OFWAT as it is
in Anglia Water's business plan for the five years commencing 2010.
A little before that time AW will undertake a "design stage"
to decide the exact locations for pipes, whether the
scheme will join up with another, the future of the small plant
opposite Sawmill Lane, and so on.
Householders living in The Street and immediately off that
road, including Finneys Drift, will all be eligible to join the new
system. It will not be compulsory, and each household will incur
costs in laying their own pipes to their boundaries, and thereafter
paying the normal sewerage rates.
More information will be circulated as it becomes available
- soon a map of the proposal will be published
and available from the Parish
Clerk.
Local Development Framework
Currently District and County Councils are reviewing this.
It is a long term view about which areas should be
developed and for what uses. The sites that Ipswich Borough
Council have identified for possible development that may be of
interest to Nacton people are identified by the numbers S79, 81,
90, 93 and 107. Primarily these are the fields on
either side of the Nacton/A14 junction and Pond Hall
Farm.
Your views are welcome. The Parish Clerk has a consultative
document with maps so that a response can be made, or you
