Location, Facilities and Costs

Located on “The Street”, next to the Primary School, the Hall has been a focus for village life since 1920. The buildings and land were donated to the village by Mr G Pretyman of the Orwell Park Estate in 1957. The Hall was extensively rebuilt to an impressive standard with a National Lottery grant in 2003 and in 2008 the Suffolk Environmental Trust provided a grant towards the provision of a childrens' exterior learning and play area.

Village HallApproached through an attractive Lych gate and paved path, the foyer with modern including disabled facilities, leads to the main hall. The double doors reveal an oak strip floor ideal for activities such as dancing, and a carpeted seating area to one side. A stage with audio amplification equipment, induction loop hearing facilities and a projection system is available. The kitchen is fitted with a cooker, refrigerator and water heaters providing excellent catering facilities. At the rear is a separate playgroup or meeting room with children’s toilets and washroom and the new exterior play area.
