The Norfolk & Suffolk Veterans' Football League is affiliated to the Football Association and games played under FA rules (11 sided and 45 minutes each-way).

The League is open to all players over 35 years of age on the date of the match.

Games played every two to three weeks on Sunday afternoons (except League finals and other matches played with the agreement of the League and both clubs concerned).

The home team to appoint a qualified referee for league and cup games, and to provide the ground, facilities and hospitality.

League affiliation fees (2009-10) are currently £50 (including League, League Cup and League Shield) in addition to any FA affiliation fees. The League also run an optional Seniors Cup (Over 40's) for which there is an entry fee of £5.

Currently the league consists of 74 teams (covering an area from Cromer in the north to Brantham in the south and from West Lynn in the west to Lowestoft in the east) competing in 12 Divisions.

There are also League Cup and League Shield competitions - for teams that get knocked-out of the first round of the League Cup - giving teams a minimum of 2 knock-out games. Also there is the optional Seniors Cup competition for the over 40s.

All the Divisions are regionalised to reduce travelling time and costs apart from the Premier Division and Division One.

The Cup competitions are also regionalised in the early rounds.

Players can be registered up to kick-off time, but if they are signed on the day their registration forms must be countersigned by the referee or opposing captain.

Teams are allowed a maximum of 2 senior players in the squad on a given day.

5 substitutes may be used on a rolling basis.
