Bosmere Community Primary School

Bosmere is an exciting school which promotes strong community links and high standards of pupil achievement.  In mathematics and areas of literacy pupils' results are significantly above national averages.

Children start at age 3 in the Nursery Class which is well resourced and staffed by a qualified teacher and nursery nurse.   Within Early Years children work towards the Early Learning Goals which prepares them for a more formal curriculum in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.  At nine, children transfer to Needham Market Middle School.  We work in close cooperation with the Middle School staff to ensure that children enjoy smooth progression through the stages of their education from 3-13.

We are a community committed to achieving success and high standards.  Care is taken to provide all pupils with challenges appropriate to their ability.  A broad and stimulating curriculum is complemented by a range of additional clubs, visits and activities.

A European project which aims to develop friendship and understanding through work with schools in Europe is a strong feature of our school.   Our work was recognized in September 1999 when we gained the prestigious International School Award.  We gained our second International School Award in 2003.

The school has recently completed an ambitious building development project providing an Early Years suite of interlinked classrooms which will enable resources to be shared more easily between the Nursery and Reception classes.  A new, larger library facilitates additional Literacy support and improved Special Needs Provision and a computer suite has been established in the original library.

We hope that children will be happy in their work and play.  Close links between staff and parents help us to know if we are getting things right.  We always welcome your views and value the contribution that children, parents, staff and governors make to our school.

Needham Market Middle School

Needham Market Middle School caters for pupils from 9-13 years old.  It is a Suffolk maintained comprehensive, co-educational day school which receives pupils from the three first schools in Needham Market, at Ringshall and Creeting St Mary as well as from out of the catchment area.

The school occupies a large, pleasant site in the town with extensive grounds containing hard surfaced playing areas as well as grass sports pitches.  The original building has been extended and remodelled internally to give a very pleasant learning environment with excellent facilities.

The school aims to affect positively the lives of everyone who comes into contact with it.  The last Ofsted inspection praised the standard of teaching and the achievements of the pupils.  It recognised the very good extra curricular opportunities, the positive ethos and the high quality care for pupils.
