Performances of the popular Scambusters and Trickster musicals will be taking place across Suffolk next week.

Both shows are aimed at raising people’s awareness of distraction burglaries; the tactics ‘bogus callers’ use to enter vulnerable people’s homes; the types of scams which can occur and how they can combat them from happening.

A cast of three professional actors will present the energetic, live story-telling event, with music from the 60s.

Inspector Ben Cook, from Suffolk Constabulary’s Community Safety team said: “Our partners within the Safe and Sound group have worked hard to organise these events and the play this year involves a scenario that older people can identify with and will show them how to deal with bogus callers, distraction burglaries and scams. The show will be followed by a sing-along of songs from the wars years, which will be lots of fun. If this stops just one person from becoming a victim of bogus callers then it will have been worthwhile.”

Performances are free and refreshments will be provided. No tickets are required, just turn up.

The shows are taking place countywide and places are still available at the following locations:

Tuesday 6th May at 10.30 am – Halesworth Rifle Hall, London Road, Halesworth

Tuesday 6th May at 2.15 pm – Kesgrave Friendship Club, Kesgrave Community Centre, Kesgrave.

Wednesday 7th May at 10.30 am – St Andrews Church Drop in Centre, Britannia Road, Ipswich.

Wednesday 7th May at 2 pm – Stephenson Centre, Great Cornard.

Friday 9th May at 7 pm – Stephenson Centre, Great Cornard.
