The village of Newton is scattered around a green of some 40 acres, which forms 8 holes of the Newton Green Golf Club.  The total land within the Parish boundaries is approximately 2200 acres.  The village is divided by the A134 which is the main road between Sudbury, 3 miles in the north, and Colchester.  We hope that you find our website of interest and that your time spent scrolling through our pages is worthwhile. Newton Spring Clean

Newton will be joiing the Spring Clean Suffolk initative on Saturday 3rd April 2010 from 8am to 10am starting at Newton Village Hall. ALL VOLUNTEERS WELCOME - LITTER PICKING EQUIPMENT PROVIDED

Parish Council Coffee Morning

Newton Parish Council will host the Coffee Morning in the Village Hall on Saturday 3rd April 2010 from 10am till 11.30pm. So please come along if you wish to discuss any issues with your councillors over a cup of coffee.


Young Village Meeting

Newton Parish Council will be holding its 2nd meeting for the young people of our village on 21st April 2010 at 6:30pm in Newton Village Hall. The young people will be updated on what has happened with the ideas given to us last year and then we want to hear what they and their parents would like the council to look at next.


Annual Parish Assembly

On Wednesday 21st April 2010 in Newton Village Hall starting at 7.30pm, the 117th annual assembly of parishioners takes place. At this meeting you have the opportunity to ask questions of the County and District Councillors, the Police as well as hearing the Annual Report from NPC Chairman, Colin Poole. The parish council would also like to hear your views on the Bus Stop locations, the location for new grit bins, what you want to spend the Village of the Year Prize money on and the Newton Parish Plan.  You also elect your representative to the Newton Green Trust and the evening will be rounded off with cheese and wine or a cup of tea.

Newton Parish Council's next scheduled meeting will be held on Wednesday 12th May 2010 at 7.30pm in Newton Village Hall.
