There are a number of organisations that operate within Newton.
In addition to the Parish Council, Village Hall Committee and
Parochial Church Council which are covered elsewhere on this
website, Newton also has the following groups (please see Contacts
section for contact details):
Fete Organising Committee
The annual Newton Fete,
which is normally held in June / July,
is organised and run by a group of residents on the
organising committee. With all proceeds going to village
organisations this is an opportunity to put something back into the
community. As is the case with such a committee, all people
willing to serve are warmly welcomed. The committee meets no
more than 4 times in the months leading up to the Fete.
Fireside Club
Established to ensure that no one in
the Village is alone or lonely, this Club is open to the over 60's.
Meetings are on alternate Tuesday afternoons in the Village Hall
from 2.30 to 4.30pm.
Keep Fit Club
Appealing to the over 50s, the club meets every Friday morning 9:30
to 10:30am in the Village Hall for a gentle workout. It’s a good
opportunity too, for catching up on the news!
Newton Newsletter
There is a monthly
newsletter distributed free to households in the village which
contains a list of events that are taking place in and around
Newton, the Church services taking place during the month and
adverts from local companies who provide services to the area.
Newton Green Trust (Registered Charity No 271085)
This is a charitable trust set up in 1964 to administer the Green
and Sports field. The main source of funds is from Newton Green
Golf Club, which rents the Green. The funds are used to support
villagers, village organisations and village activities.
