The Council
In May 2007, the Parishioners of Newton elected the 7 residents above to form the Newton Parish Council for a period of 4 years. The Councillors, who undertake their duties voluntarily, are supported by the Parish Clerk.

Parish Council meetings are normally held on the second Wednesday of each alternate month starting in January. All Newton residents are invited and encouraged to attend the meetings, with a Public Forum at the start of each meeting.

The Parish Council meetings are held in Newton Village Hall, start at 7.30pm and normally finish by 9.30pm. The 2010 meeting dates are as follows:

  • 12 May 2010         -    Annual Meeting of Parish Council
  • 14 July 2010
  • 8 September 2010
  • 10 November 2010

The Parish Clerk can be contacted at any reasonable time during the day or evening, Monday to Friday, Bank Holidays excepted.

Newsletter
Newton Parish Council issue a quarterly newsletter Around the Green to all residents of Newton which keeps everybody updated on issues and plans relating to the Parish and the Parish Council. Click

Annual Parish Assembly
The Annual Parish Assembly, which is the meeting of parishioners that discusses village matters and appoints village representatives, took place on Wednesday 15th April 2009.  The next Annual Parish Assembly will be held on Wednesday 21st April 2010.
