‘GET HOME
SAFELY’
The new Eastern Area Christmas Nightsafe
campaign ‘Get Home Safely’ taks into account that this is the
Christmas party season but asks everyone to bear in mind how you
aim to get home after a good night out. Taking the right
precautions is the best way to have a good time. Because the safer
you are, the more you can relax and enjoy yourself.
Planning this aspect of your night out will
ensure you have a safe and enjoyable time.
So Remember;
Always book a cab with a
local reputable company or plan for a family member or
friend, who hasn’t been drinking, to pick you
up.
Never pick a car of the
street thinking it’s a cab; you may find they are not
licensed.
If possible always share a
cab with a friend but if you are on your own sit in the back
seat.
And never give volunteer
your name to the driver, instead ask them for whom they are meant
to be collecting.

‘ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR
-
And the Cost to you if you commit
it’
The second Eastern Area Christmas Nightsafe
campaign focuses on Anti-Social behaviour. It seems that
Anti-Social Behaviour or ASB is on the increase across the Country,
increased ever more by the consumption of alcohol and the
confidence of being with a group of friends. ASB includes rowdy and
nuisance behaviour; yobbish behaviour and intimidating groups
taking over public spaces and vandalism, graffiti and fly posting.
It is an unnaceptable and selfish behaviour considering the blight
it can create on individuals and communitites lives.
This Nightsafe campaign therefore aims to
make people think about their actions, as actions have
consequences. Not only could you get a criminal record and a hefty
fine, you could also be banned from the pubs and clubs in your area
under the Nightsafe ‘Banned from one, Banned from all’
policy.
