An unusual jam with
a distinctive flavour, very tasty on toasted crumpets!
This recipe was given to us by a member of the Framlingham
Computer Club and was our first attempt at jam making.
Ingredients
- 2lbs Quince
- 3 pints water
- 3lbs Sugar
Method
- Peel, core and slice the quinces.
- Place fruit and water in a pan with the lid off.
- Bring to simmering point and simmer for 1 - 1¼ hours or until
fruit is soft.
- Add Sugar.
- Bring to the boil and boil fairly fast for 10 mins.
- Allow to stand and then transfer to jam jars.
This recipe should make around 4½ lbs
