Treacle Tart

Ingredients

  • 2lb golden syrup
  • 1/2 lb fresh breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbs fresh lemon juice
  • 8oz shortcrust pastry

Method

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 190°C: 375°F: Gas 5.
  2. Line a 12" shallow loose bottom flan ring with sweet/shortcrust pastry.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the golden syrup and breadcrumbs.
  4. Add the lemon juice and mix well together.
  5. Pour the sticky mixture into the pastry case.
  6. Bake in the oven for around 25 mins.
