The River Ore provides opportunities for residents and visitors
to enjoy many relaxing activities. Entry and exit to and from the
river mouth can be taxing for the inexperienced sailor but once
inside the river offers a wide range of activities.
A license to fish is required from the New Orford Town Trust but
the river offers Cod, Bass, Whiting and even Lobsters in the right
season. The banks either side are famous for watching the masses of
migrating birds that rest and refuel on their long haul flights and
there are many inlets and beaches that offer peace and tranquility
for quiet picnics or barbecues.
