Times
The village of Otley Publishes a Church Times magazine published
on a regular basis that covers Clopton, Otley, Swilland and
Ashbocking. This magazine is a useful source of information on what
is happening in the village both within the Church and other
village organisations. In the back of the magazine there is a list
of adverts for local businesses.
The annual subscription to this magazine is £6 and to register
please contact Rose Rogerson (Distribution Secretary) by email on

Grundisburgh & District
News
This is a free community newspaper produced by volunteers.
Around 3000 copies are distributed to homes and a range of central
locations in Grundisburgh and 16 other villages (including Otley).
Four issues are published annually. This magazine is a good source
of what has happened and coming soon in numerous local villages.
Also included within the magazine are a large number adverts for
local businesses.

OtleyWeb has been developed by a volunteer with the intention of
offering the local community a medium on which to
communicate.
Through the use of the World Wide Web (Internet) we hope to convey
any items of interest, not only to those in our own parish but,
other communities throughout the world
This site contains useful information about Otley and the
community.
To allow this site to develop further and be useful, it needs your
input. Please email us with your stories and wish-lists for the

The Post Office has been an integral part of the village for many
years and has seen many changes. However the most recent owners
Andrew and Penny along with their friendly team have transformed
this simple village shop into an award winning, thriving hub and
centre point to the village.
The shop forms a central hub for information, news
about events in the village, what’s for sale and local
businesses.
Opening hours are (Shop)
7am - 7pm Monday - Friday.
8am - 5pm Saturday.
9am - 12.30pm on Sunday.
Free home delivery service available on Wednesday
Otley and surrounding area, Fridays Otley village only.

Tuesady 9am - 12.30 / 1pm until 5pm
Wednesday 9am - 5pm
Thursday 9am - 1pm
Friday 9am - 12.30 / 1pm - 5pm

Don't forget if you bank with the Co-op, Alliance
and Leicester, Barclays, Cahoot, Smile, Lloyds TSB, or Nationwide
Anglia the Post office is your rural bank for money withdrawals and
deposits all free no need to travel to town and the ATM is
safer!
They have a well stocked wine lodge and offer sale
or return service for parties and functions cases of wine are much
discounted - cheaper than Tesco is Andrew's motor.
The shop is well stocked with much local produce,
Newspapers, fresh milk, vegetables and bread daily - If they don't
have what you want just ask we can normally get it! They have a
National lottery terminal and offer a dry cleaning and laundry
service.
Don't forget they have a seasonal garden centre for
bedding plants and perennials, compost always in stock and for your
winter needs, coal, smokeless fuel, kindling and logs are all
available

Boards
There are three Notice Boards within the village of Otley and
they are located at :-
1. Outside the shop / Post Office
2. Outside of the Doctor’s Surgery in Chapel Road
3. On the left-hand side Chapel Road just before the Newlands
turning going towards Cretingham.
These notice boards provide information on events in the
village, local skills/businesses and copies of the latest Parish
Council meeting minutes (not on the shop notice board).

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH
(NHW)
Neighbourhood Watch is a scheme in partnership with the Suffolk
Constabulary to make our neighbourhood more secure and our
community feel safer.
The following schemes in Otley currently do not have a
coordinator(s)

- Ipswich Road West
- Otley and Birdsmere
- Spring Park
The main objectives of Neighbourhood Watch are:-
· To prevent and reduce crime in our neighbourhood.
· To help provide reassurance to people in the community.
· To provide appropriate and up-to-date crime reduction
advice.
· To encourage members of the community to be alert and watchful
in looking after themselves and others.
· To act as a channel of communication - passing on timely
information from the police to the community and from the community
to the police - to help prevent and detect crimes.

Police Direct is a high tech messaging service provided by
Suffolk Constabulary, which is designed to bring you up to date
information about crime and policing issues in your area.

The service will give you a range of information relating to
