Barbauld House Girls School
Barbauld House Girls School was founded by Anna Laetitia Barbauld in the late 1700's and was demolished in 1869, more information on Anne Barbauld can be found on the History page. Can anyone give us more information on this school and where it stood? The picture and information was supplied by Mr R Walker.

This image shows a drawing of St Pater’s Church dating back to 1842 when Rev. J. Hodgson was Rector.
Lion Road - The Green Cross Roads
This picture of the crossroads was taken in 1965 looking from near The Hollies towards the phone box opposite the church. The photograph was donated by Mr R, Walker.
Old Cottages opposite Church
This 1950's post card shows a row of cottages they are now one dwelling.

This photograph was donated to the village by the late Miss D. Hilling and shows the Rectory in Rose Lane at some time in the 1920's

St Peters Church (4(
This image of St Peters Church taken from near to the village sign was probably taken in the 1960’s. Does anyone know the date?
St Peters Church Abt 1910
This old postcard dated from about 1910 shows the church from outside the cottage which is now known as Prospect Cottage.
St Peters church and Pond Abt 1915
This image was taken in about 1915 and shows Palgrave Church (St Peters) with the pond in the foreground. This pond has long been filled in and is now where the school has its play area. Note the children sitting at the edge of the pond and the gentleman with the top hat by the church gate.
Thatched Cottage
This photograph was donated to the village by the late Miss D. Hilling and shows a thatched cottage which is where Church View is now, the building being built on the right is the Reading Room.
The Green and Lows Lane Abt 1952
Probably taken in the early 1950's this picture shows the junction with Lows Lane.
