Village Footpaths (Notes)

Help keep Palgrave's Footpaths Open

Palgrave Parish Council footpaths sub committee are asking for the help of walkers to keep their footpaths open and walkable, if you find that a footpath can not be walked or is blocked by crops please contact John Sparks Tel:01379 641596, email johnandbonny@btinternet.com John has produced a chart to help walkers which should be used in conjunction with the Village Footpaths Map. Click here to download and print this chart. It would also be helpful to John if walkers could update the chart by informing him of paths walked.

Forthcoming Walks
:

August Walks

Tuesday 10 August 2010

Our walk today is led by Avril Salmon and will be based on Eye, of about 4 miles in length. The major part of the walk is easy going but if it is wet prior to the walk there are stretches where walking could be difficult; there are a few stiles on this walk.

Afterwards refreshments will be taken at a nearby tavern. As usual if you wish to join us for this walk, please be at Palgrave Community Centre by 9.45 a.m. when we will leave for the starting point.

Tuesday 24 August 2010

Originally planned for last November, today's walk of just under 5 miles is around the village of Westhorpe which is a mile west of Finningham and will be led by Margaret and Roger Coomber. The walk is flat and has no stiles making it very suitable for walkers who are looking for an easier walk. As the walk completely circles Westhorpe it is also suitable for those who want a shorter walk.

Afterwards we will travel by car back to Finningham where we will all meet for refreshments at the local inn. As usual if you wish to join us for this walk, please be at Palgrave Community Centre by 9.45 a.m. when we will leave for the starting point.
