Village Footpaths (Notes)
Help keep Palgrave's Footpaths Open
Palgrave Parish Council footpaths sub committee are asking for the help of walkers to keep their footpaths open and walkable, if you find that a footpath can not be walked or is blocked by crops please contact John Sparks Tel:01379 641596, email johnandbonny@btinternet.com John has produced a chart to help walkers which should be used in conjunction with the Village Footpaths Map. Click here to download and print this chart. It would also be helpful to John if walkers could update the chart by informing him of paths walked.

Forthcoming Walks:
February Walks
Tuesday 9th February 2010
Thetford Forest is always a good venue for walks when the footpaths are muddy elsewhere so Brian Beecroft is planning to take the group round some of the tracks in the forest near to East Harling. As is the norm for our walks we finish at a local public house for refreshments. If you wish to join us for this walk please be at Palgrave Community Centre in good time to leave for the starting point of the walk at 9.45 a.m.
Tuesday 23rd February 2010
For the walk today Brian Beecroft is leading the group round some of the many footpaths of Palgrave and Wortham Ling before finishing back at the Community Centre where, once changed, we will move off for refreshment at a local public house. If you wish to join us for this walk please be at Palgrave Community Centre in good time to leave for the starting point of the walk at 9.45 a.m.
March Walks
Tuesday 9th March 2010
The footpaths round the village of Burgate are well known to walkers, but Brenda and Geoff Castell are hopeful that their fresh look at the area will prove interesting. The walk today will be about 4½ miles long, has no stiles, and apart from one muddy stretch is easy going. Our normal practise of finishing a walk at a local public house for refreshments will today be at the Dolphin in Wortham. If you wish to join us for this walk please be at Palgrave Community Centre in good time to leave for the starting point of the walk at
9.45 a.m.
Tuesday 23rd March 2010
Our walk today will be led by Pat and Gordon Johnson who are planning to visit the area south of Hoxne for a 5 mile walk along footpaths, field edges and minor roads - there are 3 stiles. The walk will finish in Hoxne where the group will then move off for refreshment at a local public house. If you wish to join us for this walk please be at Palgrave Community Centre in good time to leave for the starting point of the walk at 9.45 a.m.
