As a result of producing the Parham Parish Scan for the
Millennium, and collating some valuable biodiversity data, an
Advisory Group was formed in October 2000 to produce a
Bio-diversity Action Plan for the three Greens and their associated
ponds to ensure native wildlife prospers. The implementation of the
plan began in the Summer of 2001.
Parham Wild Life Group hosted a
Discovering Wildlife Event on Sunday, 11th
November 2007. Children and adults were given the opportunity to do
leaf rubbing, identifying which tree to stick their leaves on,
identify migrating birds, guessing the contents of feely boxes
(some being not pleasant - slugs!) and answer wildlife questions on
the treasure trail as well as engaging with exhibits such as the
barn owl project where they could see what owls eat by disecting
their pellets. Thanks go to all members of the group for
generously giving up their time to run such an interesting
event. Thanks also go to Suffolk Wildlife Trust and the Tree
Preservation Society for their exhibits and time attending - it was
much appreciated.
