The Polstead Crafters
Club was started on the 12th February 2007.
During the year
18 to 30 members have attended; six of them are children who, of
course, come along with their Mothers.
The crafts for
which we are well-qualified are:-
- Embroidery
- Knitting
- Crochet
- Crosstitch
- Lacemaking
- Rag Rugging
- Wool Rug Making
The children
have completed various projects. They have made purses with
weaving, and also tried collage, crosstitch, etc.
Last November
Lynda came to show us how to make Christmas tree decorations with
fabric, needle and thread, and glue. This was a very enjoyable
evening.
In 2007 we set ourselves
a project to make a double bedspread/quilt and pillows in
coloured wool crochet squares (patchwork) to raise money for
the Children's Hospice in Ipswich. It is now finished. Thank
you to Coral Davies for putting the quilt together. We
have now raffled the quilt.
£250.00 was raised - and paid to the
Children's Hospice
on 17th March 2008.
Thank you to all those who bought tickets - the Winner
was Mrs. M. Hall, Polstead.
Come and join us on Monday evenings in
2008!
We meet in the Village Hall at 7.00pm to 9.00pm
£2.00 per evening to cover costs and refreshments.
