Walking In Polstead
 Suffolk

There is an excellent network of footpaths around Polstead. All the paths are signed and Dollops Woodmaintained, and provide walkers with a pleasant way to explore the parish.

The Polstead Footpath Map is based on the Definitive Map but is intended as a guide.
The Definitive Map should be consulted on all matters concerning Public Rights of Way.

On the Polstead Footpath Map you can use the mouse scroll-wheel to zoom in and out at the position of the mouse pointer, or use the slider on the left-hand side of the map.
You can click and hold the mouse button and drag the map or use the keyboard arrow keys to navigate.
Click on 'Satellite' at the top right of the map for more detail.
Icons can be clicked for information, links or photos. Full Instructions

Note that footpaths 19 & 22 were extinguished in 1977; the numbers 28 & 29 were reserved but not used.

As well as Public Rights of Way, the Polstead Footpath Map also shows the
Defra Permissive Footpath Blessem Hall, Potash Lane.
Defra lists a number of similar
Walks and Rides in Suffolk.

A Polstead footpaths & bridleways sketch map is available at the Polstead Community Shop.

Wilfrid George's Footpath Maps cover Polstead Parish, and are available at the Stoke-by-Nayland Post Office - as is the Ordnance Survey Explorer Map 196 (Sudbury, Hadleigh & Dedham Vale) - probably the best map for those walking in the area. The OS 196 map is also available post-free from the Ordnance Survey direct.
