Annual Parish Meeting

The Annual Parish Meeting is booked for Thursday 12th May 2011 8pm in the village hall. This meeting is a chance for all residents of the parish to get together to discuss issues affecting the village and to hear reports from the various organisations and groups, which serve the community, about their events of the past year.

Parish Council Elections

Rattlesden have three residents standing for Parish Council therefore there will be an uncontested election and just enough for a quorum. I reiterate my thanks all the outgoing members of the council for helping me to settle into the role of parish clerk and giving me a fast track insight into Rattlesden life and I look forward to working with the new council, Robert Griggs, Darren Carne and Russell Morley who take office on the 9th May. Their first job will be to recruit additional co opted members in an effort to fill the other four vacancies on the parish council so please contact any of them or myself if you would be interested in joining us or would like further information about the role of a parish councillor.

Finances

Its that time of year again when the accounts have to be balanced, agreed and audited. Council approved the figures for the year ending 31st March 2011 at their recent meeting and these will now be sent on their way through the Audit Commission’s audit system. A notice will be posted giving information on the exercise of elector’s rights to view the accounting documents as soon as they return for the auditors.
