Stolen Sign

‘Road Closed’ and ‘Diversion’ were stolen from the Drinkstone Road and Birds Green sometime between 6 pm on Monday 29 June and 7 am on Wednesday 1 July. The police would like to hear from anyone who might have seen anything suspicious (telephone Suffolk Police on 01284 774160, quoting reference ST 091946).

Rising Sun Hill

The parish council and our county councillor (Penny Otton) have been trying to persuade the Highways Department to do something to make the stretch of road at the bottom of Rising Sun Hill safer. The Highways Department has been told about the recent road traffic accident in this area, in the hope that this will keep attention focussed on the problem.

Resurfacing Work

Part of Birds Green and all of Workhouse Lane are due to be closed from 30 June to 2 July for resurfacing. The diversion will be via Lower Road, Rising Sun Hill and Poy Street.
