Rattlesden VCP Primary School
Website:
www.rattlesden.suffolk.sch.uk/
The school serves the villages of Rattlesden,
Felsham, Gedding and Brettenham. Currently there are 107
children on roll.
There are normally three classes and a Nursery.
The Nursery takes children for two terms before they begin school
and is open in the mornings.
The school was originally built in 1873 and is
of Victorian design. The new building was completed in September
2004.
The school site is very attractive and children
have the benefit of a hard play area and a playing field. The
nursery has its own play area and outdoor play equipment.
The school enjoys being part of Rattlesden
village and values its links with the parents and the community.
The school regularly contributes to the Harvest Festival and its
Christmas Carol Service (to which everyone is invited) is held in
St Nicholas’ Church.
The school has a governing body made up of
eleven governors. There are four parent governors (Mr Matthew
Riches - current chairman, Mrs Cait O'Reilly, Mr Mike Dawe and Miss
Zoe Harris), two local Education Authority appointees (Mr Stewart
Dorward and Mr Derek Beddow), one minor authority (Mrs Davina
Andrews) the Head teacher (Mrs Jane Ash) and one Teacher Governor
(Mrs Eunice Francis). In addition, Mr David Gooderham and the Rev
Liz Law represent the interests of the Church authority.
The school is very much part of the community
which it serves. If you would like to find out more, please give us
