Theft of Heating Oil

Please be aware that there has a theft of heating oil from a house in the village it is also known of other thefts in other villages.
Even if you have a lock on the tank they can cut throught the pipies or the tank. The theft happened at about 5am in the morning. We just need to keep our eyes open.

Do you have brown conifer hedges ?

This may be due the the Cypress Aphid which has come to Britain from the Middle East.
The aphids strike between May and November. They are about 4mm long and grey/brown colouring. The signs are of attack are black sooty mould on the plant and large areas of the plant turning brown.
Advice is to check the hedge regularly and spray with an insecticide containing Bifenthrin.
We understand that there may be an attack in the village.
