Rendham Village Hall - Hiring Arrangements - 2009

Following completion of the village hall refurbishment a detailed review of the hiring and charging arrangements has now been completed. The last review was in 1997.

The arrangements detailed below came into effect on 1^st April 2009 and take into account the views expressed by the various user groups.

Charging principles – hire charges have been calculated to be non profit making but to cover operating and maintenance costs. The charging model will be reviewed quarterly and may vary according to usage but is unlikely to change over the course of a year.

Hire of hall - this is the period during which the event takes place. There is no charge for preparation time and clearing up time. Advance notice will be given should adjacent events require preparation or clearing up time to be reduced.

User Groups – There are four categories of user groups:

• Service – events which provide a service for Rendham residents. Currently these are Rendham PC, Rendham PCC, Rendham Village Hall Management Committee, Friends of St Michael, ACC, ACC 1^st Responders, Rendham Fete Committee, PARK Committee, Town Estates Charity. Any new group providing a service for Rendham residents can apply to be added to this category.
• Charity - events which are held for the benefit of a registered charity
• Resident - events for which the hall is hired by a Rendham resident

• Others - events for which the hall is hired by a non Rendham resident

Regular user hourly rate – discounted rate for regular users who commit to using the hall for 6 months at an average of 2 bookings per month.

Heating – use of wall heaters and portable heaters in the main hall are charged separately due to the high cost of electricity.

• Refundable deposit required for parties, weddings and similar functions. Detailed hiring arrangements available by request.
• Use as a polling station: £100.00 to include heating.
