We operate a minibus which is available for hire, on a self-drive basis, by local groups.

The minibus (see the photo below) is a modern 15-seater with full safety features and disabled access. Also, room can be made for wheelchairs in place of some seats.

It is available for hire by groups serving the community in Reydon, Southwold and surrounding districts who agree to become members of RDCT (a simple formality involving purchase of a £1 nonreturnable share).

Anyone can drive it, provided they have a full licence and undergo a short training session to become familiar with the vehicle and safety requirements; they can then be registered as approved drivers.

Current hire rates are as follows. Distance is recorded in kilometres and is charged at 89p per kilometre for the first 30 km, then 49p/km for the next 120km and 32p/km thereafter. There is a minimum charge of £20. So for a journey of, say, 25 miles (40km) the cost works out at £31.60 and for 50 miles it’s £51.20. These rates apply from April 2008 and are reviewed once a year.
