The River Action Group came together in 1998. It is made up of representatives of various community groups working with Ipswich Borough Council and relevant agencies.

The Group promotes improvements to the amenities of the Gipping corridor between Stoke Bridge and Sproughton.  Its aims are the creation of cycle and pedestrian paths including the provision of bridges across the river where possible.  Much has been achieved, much more remains to be done....
