Welcome to the Bury Central Safer Neighbourhood
Team. In Suffolk. Safer Neighbourhood Teams are made up of
Police Officers, Police Community Support Officers, Specials
and Police Support Volunteers.
We work alongside staff from other organisations, including
district and borough councils to provide an even better service to
local people across the county.
Our team has a remit to solve problems dentified by local people
from your area - which could range from crime and ant-social
behaviour to noise and litter
Remember, we are here to help you, so please get in touch with
us if you need our assistance. Bury Central
team covers Abbeygate, Risbygate and Eastgate
wards.
Our Team Priorities
(what you told us we need to concentrate our efforts
on)
1. Modified Vehicles - To reduce the
problems caused by the use of modified vehicles in the following
areas Cattlemarket IP33 3DG, Buttermarket IP33
1DA,Cornhill IP33 1DZ, Rougham Hill IP33 2RU. This
priority was set in September

Theft of purses within the Bury St Edmunds town centre mainly
Abbeygate Street IP33 1LB , Cornhill IP33 1DX and St Johns
Street IP33 1SQ. This priority was set on 16th December

The next neighbourhood policing
meeting
We hold regular tasking meetings, which are
attended by the police, county, district and parish councillors, as
well as our partners from health and educational organisations.
The aim is to:

Discuss issues put forward by the local
community.

Select the top three priorities to be
addressed and how we are going to tackle them.

Arrange feedback to local people about
progress.
The next meeting will be held
at Westbury Social Club, Oliver Road, Bury St
Edmunds. IP33 3JG on Wednesday 17th March 2010 at
2:00pm.The public meeting will end at 3:00pm.
All members of the public are invited to attend to discuss local
issues and set neighbourhood priorities with Police and Partners,
meet your SNT officers and find out what's happening in your area.
