Reducing Criminal Damage

Details:
Working closely with Babergh District Council and Great Cornard Parish Council we have continued to highlight areas that have been affected by isolated acts of damage such as Graffiti and Arson. As these acts are not specific to any one area we have continued with a proactive approach to the prevention, detection and where appropriate removal or repair of the damage.

Objectives:
We will monitor developing trends and attempt to identify offenders of these crimes. Where appropriate increased patrols will be implemented. As there is a direct link to Criminal Damage and anti social behavior, we will priorities police resources to these areas.

Updates:
Over the past 12 months there has been a significant reduction in criminal damage offences within Great Cornard. This is partly due to increased patrols in areas of concerns and early intervention involving our Police Community Support Officers. In a new scheme to combat Graffiti both our PCSO's have now been issued with digital cameras to allow effective evidence gathering of offences. These images are then compared to a new database compiled by Babergh District Council, allowing links between suspect and offence to be reached.
