FRAMLINGHAM SAFER NEIGHBOURHOOD
TEAM
April has arrived with a bit of a
mix weather wise and I think the same could be said for crime in
the area. The rise in domestic fuel charges has seen a rise in the
theft of oil from domestic tanks in the countryside, with as far as
I am aware, no arrests as yet, so we need to be on our toes about
suspicious activities of larger vehicles. I have had a report of a
white transit type van with its back cut off replaced with a large
black tank, its been seen driving around the back roads north of
Peasenhall but could get anywhere in the area. No index number as
yet, it could be quite innocent but it would be nice know that for
certain. It would be worth while to let your scheme residents know
that this is an on going problem and ask them to keep their eyes
open for vehicles that don’t look quite right in the
area.
At
this time of year we have the local Annual Parish and Town meetings
and I am pleased to tell you that our Community Police Officer Mark
Bryant is making every effort to attend them all, even coming in on
his day off. So if you do go to your Annual meeting please
introduce yourselves and have a chat especially if you have not met
him before, he will be very happy to talk to you.
The
get together we had at Badingham village hall on the
12th February went very well and it was great that so
many of you could attend. Those who could not make the evening will
have another chance later in the year. With the help of some
Framlingham NHW co-ordinators we are hoping to have a purely social
event, probably a street BQ, this will take place around the end of
June, date to be confirmed as they say and with all out door
events, dependent on the weather. I also intend to organise a more
formal evening for us sometime in October. For this we could
perhaps have a guest speaker and others who can give us their views
or information that you may find both interesting and helpful to
your area. If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions please let me
know then I can start booking peoples time, diaries seem to fill up
very quickly.
I
don’t seem to have got out in to the parishes as much as I would
like to but hopefully thing will improve with the arrival of
Christian Hassler to Framlingham, he is a fellow Community Support
Officer and he will be covering the southern part of the town and
the schools. This will free up some of my time from Framlingham
town and allow me to get to events in the parishes so if you are
planning any coffee mornings, fetes, garden parties or social
evenings in your areas please let me know, it would be nice to be
able to mix and make myself known and available to
everyone.
