Leiston and Aldeburgh Team Homepage
Welcome to the Leiston and Aldeburgh Safer Neighbourhood Team website.

In Suffolk, Safer Neighbourhood Teams are made up of Police Officers, Police Community Support Officers, Specials and Police Support Volunteers.

We work alongside staff from other organisations, including district and borough councils to provide an even better service to local people across the county.

Our team has a remit to solve problems identified by local people from your area – which could range from crime and anti-social behaviour to noise and litter.

Remember, we are here to help you, so please get in touch with us if you need our assistance. Our team covers the wards of Leiston and Aldeburgh.

Our Team Priorities
(what you told us we need to concentrate our efforts on)

1. Anti-social Behaviour and Criminal Damage - of most concern is littering and broken glass particularly on the Victory Road Recreation Ground (IP16 4DQ) and the King Georges Avenue recreation ground (IP16 4JQ) and The Kings Field (IP15 5EJ) link to more details

2. Provisions for the Community - link to more details

3. Vehicle misuse - Young drivers speeding around and congregating on the car parks on Sizewell Rd Leiston (IP16 4AB) and Fort Green Aldeburgh (IP15 5DE) -  link to more details

Policing Pledge

The above priorities reflect local concerns and are in keeping with the Policing Pledge. It gives all forces the same set of guidelines which help ensure that local people receive a quality policing service, wherever they live. The next neighbourhood policing meeting

We hold regular tasking meetings, which are attended by the police, county, district and parish councillors, as well as our partners from health and educational organisations.

The aim is to:

  • Discuss issues put forward by the local community.
  • Select the top three priorities to be addressed and how we are going to tackle them.
  • Arrange feedback to local people about progress.

These are not open to the public. However, the next one for your area is 2pm on 3rd September 2009 in Leiston.  If you have issues you want raised at this meeting – please contact us
