Welcome to the Mid Suffolk Central Safer Neighbourhood Team.  In Suffolk, Safer Neighbourhood Teams are made up of Police Officers, Police Community Support Officers, Specials and Police Support Volunteers.

We work alongside staff from other organisations, including district and borough councils to provide an even better service to local people across the county.

Our team has a remit to solve problems identified by local people from your area - which could range from crime and Anti-Social behaviour to noise and litter.

Remember, we are here to help you, so please get in touch with us if you need our assistance.  Mid Suffolk Central team covers Bacton, Badwell Ash,  Helmingham, Coddenham, Debenham, Mendlesham, Old Newton, The Stonhams and Wetheringsett wards.

Our Team Priorities

(what you've told us we need to concentrate our efforts on)

1. Speeding in three locations - The Street, Thorndon, IP23 7JR; Thwaite Road, Thorndon IP23 7JJ; and Chapel Road, Mendlesham IP14 5SQ

2. To address Anti- Social Behaviour in respect of the use of motorcycles on the car park of The Community Centre, Old Station Road, Mendlesham IP14 5RT on Fridays  between 7.00pm - 1.00am. This Priority was set on  3 March 2010- read more details

Policing Pledge

The next Neighbourhood Policing Meeting 

We hold regular tasking meetings, which are attended by the police, county, district and parish councillors, as well as our partners from health and educational organisations.

The aim is to:

  • Discuss issues put forward by the local community.
  • Select the top three priorities to be addressed and how we are going to tackle them.
  • Arrange feedback to local people about progress.

These meetings are open to the public, so if you would like to come along and raise any issues with us, the next Meeting for your area will be held on 7th April at the White Horse, The Street, Badwell Ash, IP31 3DP.

The May meeting
for your area will be held on 12th May at The Sports and Social Club, Church Road, Old Newton IP14 4ED. 

Meetings start at 7pm and finishes at 8pm.  If you can't make the meeting and would like to get in touch about something which concerns you - please contact us
