We had been asked to improve security of farm vehicles and
machinery stored on farms. in IP5; IP6; IP14; IP23; and
IP31.
Objective This objective was set on 3 February
2010.
We Did:
- Reiterate/Promote best practice in methods of Crime
Prevention.
- Work with partner agencies and private sector companies
including NFU and Vehicle hire companies.
- Promote membership of "Farmwatch" and highlight/raise
awareness of crime trends and crime prevention methods to
deter offenders.
- Increase Safer Neighbourhood Team patrols
of rural areas susceptible to this type of crime.
- Raised awareness through inclusion in Parish
Reports and village magazines.

Awareness of
problems highlighted through Farwatch, with improved communications
with all involved.

You asked us to respond to criminal damage to vehicles and
property at Old Newton in the vicinity of The Village Hall and
Sports and Social Club. IP14 4ED.

We Did:

Conduct high visibility
patrols.

enquiries throughout the local community.

Promote Police Direct and increase numbers of
public subscribing to the service.

12th February.
- Held a meeting with residents and a representative of the
Police Authority when home and personal security were discussed
together with the importance of Neighbourhood Watch.

You asked us to respond to increased burglaries at School premises
in the Mid Suffolk SNT area.
We Did,

- Carried out patrols on regular basis throughout December
and January.

and The Street, Stowlangtoft, IP31 3JN.

have been carried out.

carried out mobile checks and deployed SID.Motorists stopped
and cautioned.

warnings were issued together with a Fixed Penalty
notice.

Anti Social
behaviour in Coddenham - you asked us to investigate and prevent
Anti Social Behaviour in Coddenham.
We Did
-
- Raise the profile of this issue amongst Debenham Neighbourhood
Response Team Officers, and also in Stowmarket police Station
Neighbourhood Response Team Briefing Room.
- Organised mobile and foot patrols around the area on a regular
basis.
- Carried our enquiries with local residents.
- Between 30th October and 23rd November 11 foot patrols
took place and no issues encountered. Members of the
public asked for input and they reported no issues at that
time.
Outcome
Increased patrols
with associated high visibilty of Officers has resolved the current
problem.

Fly Tipping in the
Mendlesham Area - you asked us to investigate Fly Tipping in the
Wash Lane area of Mendlesham and Mendlesham Green.
We Did.
- Make Mid Suffolk District Council aware of the
problem.
- Made Neighbourhood Response Teams aware of the problem.
- Carry out regular patrols of the identified areas.
- Between the 2nd November and 13th November 7 patrols were
carried out and no instances were noted, the Wash Lane rubbish had
been removed.
Outcome
Fly Tipping
appears to have ceased and problem resolved at present.

Speeding Problems
- 3- locations; High Street Debenham, Chapel Road Old
Newton, A1120 Forward Green and Badwell Road, Wyverstone
We Did
We have carried out speed checks using both
a Speed indicator Device (SID) and using a handheld laser
device. Speed checks have been carried out in all of the
above areas resulting in motorists receiving verbal or written
warnings, during this period eight fixed penalty notices have been
issued. At Old Newton road safety advice was given to parents
collecting school children and walking in the road.
Outcome
Instances of
motorists speeding significantly reduced.

Anti
social Behaviour in Debenham.
We
Did
Identify a number of suspects and the young people and parents were
interviewed. Additional youth club facilities have been
trialed to prevent further anti social behaviour.
Outcome.
As a result no further incidents
have been reported.
