Newmarket

Welcome to the Newmarket Safer Neighbourhood Team website.

In Suffolk, Safer Neighbourhood Teams are made up of Police Officers, Police Community Support Officers, Specials and Police Support Volunteers.

We work alongside staff from other organisations, including district and borough councils to provide an even better service to local people across the county.

Our team has a remit to solve problems identified by local people from your area – which could range from crime and anti-social behaviour to noise and litter.

Remember, we are here to help you, so please get in touch with us if you need our assistance. Our team covers the wards of All Saints, Exning, St Marys and Severals.

Our Team Priorities

(what you told us we need to concentrate our efforts on)

1.  Anti-Social Behaviour by groups of youths in the play area of Churchill Court Flats between the hours of 7pm and 11pm CB8 0JY.  This priority was set on 21st July 2010  - Link to more details

2. Illegal squatting and criminal damage to empty and derelict properties in and around the area of Newmarket High Street (CB8 9AQ).  This priority was set on 21st July 2010 - Link to more details

The above priorities reflect local concerns and are in keeping with the Policing Pledge. The next Community Priority Setting meeting

We hold regular tasking meetings, which are attended by the police, county, district and parish councillors, as well as our partners from health and educational organisations.

The aim is to:

  • Discuss issues put forward by the local community.
  • Discuss the top three priorities chosen by members of the public and decdie how these should be addressed and how we are going to tackle them.
  • Arrange feedback to local people about progress.

These meetings are open to the public, so if you would like to come along and raise any issues with us, the next one for your area is on Wednesday 15th September 2010 at Brough Scott House, Bill Rickaby Drive, Newmarket, CB8 OLN. The meeting starts at 10:00 and finishes at 12:00.

If you can't make the meeting and would like to get in touch about something which concerns you - please contact us.
