On Saturday 19th December 2009 Father Christmas visited Downside Close for a Christmas event organised by the SHADOWS group. It was a really good community engagement, where the SHADOWS group worked alongside the area housing officer and the South West Safer Neighbourhood Team to provide refreshments and entertainment to the young children and their families. All children got the chance to meet Father Christmas, who gave them an early Christmas present, and some of his little helpers were there too. There were refreshments, colouring competitions and also face-painting available to children who all appeared to have a fantastic time, and the weather made the atmosphere all the better as they were able to play in the snow.
