Task completed 23rd february 2010
You asked us to reduce Anti-Soical Behaviour at Seven Oaks, Trimley, IP10 OSW and this is what we have done about it: 
This priority was extended on 17th November 2009 following the Tasking Meeting to allow further work to be progressed.

Objective
Reducing Anti-Social Behaviour at Seven Oaks, Trimley

Update
Officers to conduct high visibility patrols in the area:-

  • Officers to increase high visibility patrols to deter offences and reassure public and property owners.
  • Officers to issue Section 27 of the Violent Crime Reduction Act to unwanted visitors. (Directions to a person who represents a risk of disorder to leave a specified area).
  • A meeting took place on 24/09/09 between Kate Rookyard, (SCDC ASB Officer), Sam Beacham, (SCDC Licensing officer) and Insp Gallant.  It was agreed that SCDC would develop a set of "house rules" for the occupants, together with a welcome pack for all new residents who would also get a individual visit from a member of the SNT.  Once the house rules have been compiled there will be a meeting with all the current residents and the rules explained.

Officers to liaise with the local residents and to collate evidence of Anti-Social Behaviour:-

  • Officers to visit residents and obtain statements where possible and gather evidence towards obtaining Anti-Social Behaviour orders and detecting crime.

Outcome
Following Tasking meeting there has been positive feedback from the community in regard to  Anti-Social Behaviour in relation to this issue.  The SNT will continue to monitor the situation.

Objective
Reducing Anti-Social Use of Jetskis at Felixstowe Ferry.

Update
Officers to conduct high visibilty patrols in the area:-

  • Officers increased their  high visibility patrols to deter offences and reassure public.

Suffolk Coastal District Council liaised with other local agencies:-

  • Suffolk Coastal District Council have liaised with local agencies and users of the waterways with a view to implement ways of reducing this problem.

Outcome
A small working party, comprising of SNT, Felixstowe Ferry Foreshore Turst and SCDC has been set up to to progress further work on this issue.

Objective
Reduce Cycling on footpaths and displaying lights.

Update
Officers conducted high visibility patrols in the area:-

  • This campaign ran from 01/11/09 - 31/01/10
  • Officers issued tickets to those cycling on footpaths over 16yrs.
  • Anyone under 16ys have had a letter sent to parent/guardian from SNT. If they were caught again a visit to the home address was carried out by an SNT officer.
  • If behaviour continued a summons to court would have been issued.

Outcome
To date this has been a successful campaign with 168 people being stopped, this includes 35 persons been issued with fixed penalty tickets and over 56 letters sent to parents/guardians of children, no repeat letters have had to be sent during this campaign.


Task Completed 17th November 2009

Objective
Monitor the anti social behaviour and criminal damage in the area of the Skate Park, Orwell Green.


Update
  • Increase High Visibility Patrols - Officers conducted high visibility patrols within the stated areas, particularly in the evenings and at weekends.
  • Reassurance patrols - Officers carried out reassurance patrols within the area and monitored the level of anti social behaviour and criminal damage that was occurring.
  • Liaise with Suffolk Coastal District Council - Officers liaised with Suffolk Coastal District Council who kept a close eye on the area with regards to damage and littering. Increased security to lighting box implemented to prevent lights being tampered with.  River of Life "Boost Bus" was placed at Locus each Tuesday evening to engage with youths.

Outcome
Following Tasking meeting there has been positive feedback from the community in regard to  Anti-Social Behaviour in relation to this issue.  The SNT will continue to monitor the situation.

Objective
You asked us to look at Reducing Anti-Social Driving, Parking and Speeding in Sea Road.

Update

  • Officers to conduct speed checks and enforcement - Officers used laser speed check device to prosecute and deter offenders and to use Section 59 Police Reform Act to seize vehicles from owners driving in an anti-social manner. 
  • Enforce parking and obstructions offences - Officers issued penalty tickets where necessary and addressed parking and obstructions problems to improve road safety and traffic flow in the area. 
  • Increase high visibility patrols in Sea Road - Officers increased their high visibility patrols to deter offences and reassure public and property owners.

Outcome
Following Tasking meeting, reported incidences of Anti-Social Speeding and driving has decreased, and due to time of year it was agreed this be removed as a priority.  The SNT will continue to monitor the situation in the new year.


Task completed 28th July 2009

Objective
Reducing  incidents of underage drinking particularly targeting the areas of the Triangle, Spa Pavilion and  Pier.


Updates
  • Increase High Visibility Patrols - Officers conducted high visibility patrols within the stated areas, particularly in the evenings and at weekends.
  • Confiscation of Alcohol - Officers confiscated any alcohol in the possession of underage persons.
  • Education of young children - Officers liaised with partner agencies to provide educational activities on health issues associated with abuse of alcohol.

Outcome
Stop / search encountering and the seizing of alcohol will still continue within the area, however the problem has dispersed from the Traingle and Pier locations.

Objective
Look at parking issues on High Road, Trimley, outside Trimley St. Mary Primary School, IP11 0RG

Updates

  • Officers to conduct high visibility foot patrols in the area - Officers conducted high visibility foot patrols to monitor and enforce any breach of parking regulations.
  • Liase with Suffolk County Council - Officers  liased with Suffolk County Council regarding the introduction of single yellow lines in the area.

Outcome
At present we are awaiting a decision from the courts pending the installation of yellow lines. This
process may take some time and we will endeavour to revisit this priority if the problem is not resolved in
the near future.

Objective
Reducing incidents of HGV's parking on Dock Gate One roundabout, Walton Avenue

Updates
.

  • Liaise with the Highways department - Approach tasking group with a view to seek review by highway department and consideration to preventative signage and bollards.
  • Enforce parking and obstruction offences - Officers issued penalty tickets where necessary to address parking and obstructions problems to improve road safety and traffic flow in the area.

Outcome

The National Highways Agency are in the process of applying for a Permanent Traffic Order for the Dock Gate One roundabout. This will enable them to install double yellow lines around its perimeter. Once the order is in place the Highways Agency will also look to place a number of bollards along the grass verge, preventing HGV's from parking.

This process may take a few months, and although this priority is being closed, we will endeavour to look at it again in the near future if the situation is not resolved.
