You asked us to tackle the issues
at Toby's Walks and the problems around an emerging sex
environment
. This is what we are doing about
it:
Objectives
- To ensure that Toby's Walks is a safe place for everyone who
visits. That users respect the fact that the area is foremost a
natural, countryside environment which was developed as a place
that can be visited and enjoyed by people of all ages, to picnic,
walk and pass time without suffering from the anti-social behaviour
of other users.
- To form an active Partnership between agencies to review
the site, improve safety and create a safe and attractive area for
visitors.
Update
Toby's Walks is patrolled by Countryside
Officers who are accredited with powers by Suffolk Constabulary's
Chief Constable. They can request the names and addresses of
persons acting in an anti social manner and can issue Fixed Penalty
Notices for behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or
distress.
Safer Neighbourhood Team Officers and the Countryside
Officers will be working together, making random visits and
carrying out patrols of the area. The site will be reviewed with
the Suffolk Coastal District Crime Reduction Officer to see whether
any measures can be taken to open up the site, especially around
the toilet areas to make them safer and less obscured by trees and
foliage.
Posters will be displayed around the site which show the
partnership working and highlight the consequences of 'Anti-Social
Behaviour'.
Information leaflets / posters about the Community Safety
Accreditation Scheme will also be displayed at the site.
Anyone experiencing any anti-social issues at Toby's Walks
should report it - at the time - noting any car
numbers and descriptions of the persons
involved.
Outcome
Details will be published here
soon.
