You asked us - to address
the issues of anti - social driving and boy racer issues in
Saxmundham around Market Place, High Street and Church Street and
this is what we are doing about it
Objectives
Working with local residents, the Town Council,
Business Association and traders identify main offenders and
vehicles for targeting.
Send warning letters initially, to identified drivers, advising
them of the problem and how we intend to tackle it should they
ignore the advice offered.
Send letters to local residents and businesses recruiting
them as 'eyes and ears' encouraging witnesses to come forward, take
notes of vehicle registration numbers and driver descriptions to
assist us to identify offenders and prosecute offenders where
good evidence is available.
Plan some enforcement days with SNT officers, Roads Policing,
Special Constabulary and Response Officers to target individuals
identified through local knowledge.
Arrange a Partnership Information Event - promoting Road
Safety, sensible driving, advanced driver training involving
Police / Fire and Rescue and Road Safety and if possible Ambulance
for local drivers, particularly targeting those that hang out
in the identified areas.
Update - coming soon...
Outcome - coming soon...
