Southwold and Halesworth

Welcome to the Southwold and Halesworth Safer Neighbourhood Team website

In Suffolk, Safer Neighbourhood Teams are made up of Police Officers, Police Community Support Officers and Police Support Volunteers.

We work alongside staff from other organisations, including County, District, Town and Parish Councils to provide an even better service to local people across the county.

Our team has a remit to solve problems identified by local people from your area - which could range from crime and anti-social behaviour to noise and litter.

Remember, we are here to help you, so please get in touch with us if you need our assistance. Our team covers the wards of Wrentham, Southwold, Reydon, Blything and Halesworth.

Community Priority Setting Meetings

We hold regular tasking meetings, which are attended by the police, county, district and parish councillors, as well as our partners from health and educational organisations.

The aim is to:

  • Discuss issues put forward by the local community
  • Select the top three priorities to be addressed & how we are going to tackle them
  • Arrange feedback to local people about progress

These meetings are open to the public, so if you would like to come along and raise any issues with us we would be pleased to see you. Our next meeting is at 5.30pm on Thursday 18th March 2010 finishing approximately 7pm, at The Town Hall, Market Place, Southwold IP18 6EF There is some street parking nearby. Please don't park on single yellow lines as they apply until 6pm

If you can't make the meeting and would like to get in touch about something that concerns you - please contact us

Tell us about community issues that affect you. If you are a Community Group working in the area we want to hear from you and can feature you on this website.

Please note all the following links open in a new window:

Be Visible - Be Safe Our advice is to get a High Vis jacket or waistcoat to wear when out at night time. Especially if you are a cyclist or walking in the countryside where there are no pavements and street lighting

Crime Mapping   Please note that the peak of reported crime shown on the crime mapping for the month of July, is due to an unusually high (for the locality) number of thefts which occur each year at the Latitude Music Festival, Henham Park.

Criminals travel from all over the U.K. to attend this event and prey on the vulnerability of festival goers, many of whom do not practise the normal crime prevention measures they might at home.

Don't think that just because you're attending a music festival in a beautiful part of rural Suffolk, you are immune from crime.

If you are planning on attending Latitude, please bear in mind these simple crime prevention tips
