We extend a warm welcome to any ladies who would like to join
us. We are a small, friendly group who meet at 7.30 pm on the
second Tuesday of each month (unless indicated otherwise) in either
Shimpling or Alpheton Village Hall. Our current membership is
24.
Programme
We are part of a large organisation. The Women's institute is
the largest women's organisation in the U.K. with 205,000
members. There are 6,500 WI's within county
Federations.
The usual format for our monthly meetings is a very good speaker or
demonstrator followed by tea or coffee and refreshments and time to
chat. Our programme is varied and aims to be interesting and
enjoyable for all our members. We usually have an outing
in the summertime when we visit somewhere interesting nearby and
finish with a meal out. These occasions are usually open
meetings when husbands, partners, friends are invited.
We are interested in everything from theatre to the environment,
from crafts to holidays, from gardening to history, and we are
definitely interested in a cup of tea and a piece of cake!
Members take part in as much or as little as they choose.
Why not join us? It's a good place to meet other ladies you
might not otherwise get to know.
