UNITARY LOCAL GOVERNMENT
– ON OR OFF?
The Secretary of State for
Communities and Local Government today (10th Feb)
announced that he’s decided not to make up his mind about Suffolk
and that further consultation will take place!! His judgement can
be read
here. All the Suffolk councils and their
MPs, consulting other stakeholders and through a county
constitutional convention will be asked to reach a consensus on
a unitary solution for Suffolk. Well, that should be concluded
before the general election then!!
ROADWORKS IN THE
STREET

The work to replace
the main water supply pipe through the village is well underway
now. It is anticipated it will take 10 weeks from 25th
January.

TRAVEL
DIFFICULTIES
Blocka
Road in Ashby/Herringfleet will be
closed for
carriageway repairs between the county boundary and the junction
with Border Lane from Monday 22nd to Friday
26th February. A map of the road to be closed and the
diversion arrangements are available
here. This will affect those who travel to
work in Great Yarmouth using Market Lane in
Somerleyton/Ashby.
The Mutford Lock road
bridge at Oulton Broad will be
closed for
maintenance between 0100 and 0600 on both Thursday 25th
and Friday 26th February.
