Take Up The Challenge Cup!

The Bury Bike Ride was formed in 1998 and over the past nine years has raised well

over £92,000 for various charities such as Rainbow Appeal, Marie Curie Cancer Nurses, St Nicholas Hospice , East Anglian Children's Hospice, Bury Free Press Macmillan Appeal, Operation Santa Claus and many more. The team challenge cup which was introduced in 1999 to encourage groups of riders to take part and raise money as team, to work as a team and have a great day in doing so. Over the past years such teams as Amot Controls, Vinten Broadcast, The Saddle Sore Sisters, The Chain Gang and last four years by Culford Waste.

This ride was always organized to raise monies for local charities in the Suffolk area, so this year we have decided to split it between Bury Free Press, Operation Santa Claus SGR FM and other worthy charities and causes.

Now thbike1e Eleventh year is coming up quickly, we ask you to “Take up the Challenge” make up a team, workmates, friends or family and join other teams such as the above to help raise a considerable amount of money for these charities.

This year’s ride takes place on Sunday 8th June and start from the Abbey Gardens Bury St Edmunds. Join us with your bikes and sponsorship forms and ride a choice of either 15, 25, 50 or 100-mile route, In no way is this a competitive event, enjoy the day and with a little training you’ll be surprised how enjoyable it can be. All riders will receive T-shirt and refreshment on route.
