Help give Yoxford a family fun day (February 11, 2008)
The invitation has gone out to local voluntary and community groups
to take a free stand to promote what they do at a special Yoxford
Family Fun Day on Thursday, March 27 being organised by the Suffolk
Coastal Local Strategic Partnership (LSP).
Yoxford’s primary school and village hall
will be the location for the special day which is during the Easter
holidays to attract as wide an audience as possible.
“This will be third year that the LSP has
held special events aimed at helping local people get more out of
life and it is the first time we are visiting Yoxford. We want to
have a mixture of fun activities and useful information on offer on
the day, and we would like as many local groups as possible to get
involved and promote themselves,” said Cllr Sherrie Green, Suffolk
Coastal LSP Board member.
“Organisations like Suffolk Coastal, the
County Council, the police and the health services will have stands
on the day giving people information about services and the help
that is on offer, and there will also be lots of fun activities
many aimed at young people.
“The goal of the day is to help people get
more out of their life by finding out how they can improve their
health and well-being, whether it is at a local club or by becoming
a volunteer, or adopting a healthier way of living. Any group that
can help people around Yoxford achieve that should book a stall
now,” added Cllr Green.
The event will run from 10am to 3pm with a
mixture of indoor and outdoor activities and stalls aimed at people
of all ages. Any group that wants to book a stall should contact
Sharon Jarrett by March 13 on 01394 444697 or email
