Residents encouraged to Know Your Limits (October 14,
2009)
The Community Safety Partnership team in conjunction with the
local SNT teams will be visiting the district next week in
the Police pod to offer information and advice about alcohol and
the impact it can have on all aspects of community life as part of
the national Know Your Limits week.
People will be able to receive leaflets and
information about alcohol, take part in quizzes about the alcohol
content of their drinks, receiving a small prize for taking part,
and speak to a member of the substance misuse team if they would
like any advice.
“The Know Your Limits road shows are a great
way for members of the community to see if they really know how
much alcohol they are drinking. There are a lot of people who think
that one drink equals one unit and are surprised to find out that
in fact it can often be quite a bit more,” said Cllr Sherrie Green,
Suffolk Coastal's Cabinet Member for Community Health.
The Pod will be visiting Felixstowe Town
Centre on Tuesday, October 20, 10am till 2pm and Waitrose car park
in Saxmundham on Wednesday, October 21, 10am till 2pm.
“Joining the Know Your Limits team will be a
member from the Police Direct team to raise awareness of the
services they offer to the community and I would encourage all
residents to come along to one of the road shows to find out
more.”
“The Know Your Limits campaign is aimed at
all members of the community, offering helpful information to
encourage residents to think about the amount they are drinking so
they can enjoy alcohol responsibly and benefit from a healthier
lifestyle,” added Cllr Green.
