A pack of illustrative cards detailing contacts for voluntary
and community organisations is being offered to businesses across
the district.
The cards are targeted at smaller local businesses that do not
have a personnel or human resource service and who want to support
their staff by giving them information on organisations that might
be able to help them with a variety of issues.
“These cards, which were launched at the recent Suffolk Coastal
Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) forum, have been produced by the
Suffolk Volunteering Federation to provide a useful source of
information that businesses can pass on to their employees,” said
Councillor Ray Herring, Chairman of the Suffolk Coastal LSP.
“There are 26 cards in the pack that cover a variety of subjects
from illness and bereavement to sport, transport, arts and
children. There are also cards giving businesses information on how
they can help the voluntary sector by supporting their staff if
they wish to volunteer, or who to contact if they are considering
setting up a Payroll Giving scheme,” continued Councillor
Herring.
Any business wanting a pack should contact Karen Lawson,
Voluntary and Community Sector Development Co-ordinator, who is
based with the Suffolk Association of Voluntary Organisations
(SAVO). Karen can be contacted on 01473 275195 or by
email.
