Plans for the 2010 Festival are well under way.

The artists for concerts have already been booked.  The band for the grand ceilidh is booked.

The Festival will be even bigger than 2009, when the following happened:

 
Festival Office

This was at the 5th Woodbridge Sea Scouts Hall on Tide Mill Way, where you could call in to purchase your festival memorabilia, shelter from the intense summer sunlight, find out where the morris dancers were, get your concert or ceilidh tickets, or just use the toilets.

16:00  Campsite opened.
Saturday
30 May
09:00  Festival Office opened.
10:00 – 15:45 Morris, sword and Appalachian dancing on The Thoroughfare, along the riverside, by the Quay and the Tide Mill, and at the Cherry Tree Inn.
14:30  Concert with Paul & Liz Davenport, Woodbridge Library
16:00  All dance sides at the Tide Mill and the Ferry Quay Café
20:00 Ceilidh at the Abbey School with Pluck’n’Squeeze and Gill Bosley
20:00 Concert at the 5th Woodbridge Sea Scout Hall with Patrick Gillard, Shadow and Shade, and Paul & Liz Davenport
Music and song with High Water Mark at the Cherry Tree Inn
Sunday
31 May
10:00 Festival Office opens
11:00 – 15:45 Morris, sword and Appalachian dancing on along the riverside, by the Quay and the Tide Mill, and at the Cherry Tree Inn.
12:30 – 17:00 Free concert in Elmshurst Park

The Larks: 12.30 - 1.10pm

Kiss the Mistress: 1.20 to 2.10pm

Triangle: 2.20 to 2.50pm

The Bounty Hounds: 3.00 - 3.50pm

Cruel Folk: 4.00 - 5.00pm

All weekend Beer Festival at the Cherry Tree Inn (opposite Notcutts)
Evenings Music / song sessions at The Old Mariner

Library Concert

Paul & Liz Davenport, two wonderful traditional folk singers from Yorkshire, performed at a free concert on the Saturday afternoon in Woodbridge Library.

Ceilidh

The Saturday evening ceilidh took place in the hall at the Abbey School from 8 - 11 p.m. with music from Pluck'n'Squeeze and Gill Bosley calling the dances.

Evening Concert

The Scout Hall was the venue for a Saturday evening concert featuring Paul & Liz Davenport, Patrick Gillard and Shadows in the Shade.

Beer Festival

The Cherry Tree Inn held a beer festival all weekend with 26 beers from Suffolk and beyond. The shanty group, High Water Mark, led the entertainment during the evening on Saturday.

Sessions

The landlord of The Old Mariner on New Street welcomed folk from the festival who wanted to drop in for a music session.

Sunday Concert

While the dancing continued around the town on the Sunday, the free open air concert took place in Elmhurst Park with The Larks, Kiss the Mistress, Triangle, The Bounty Hounds and Cruel Folk.

Camping

Woodbridge Town Football Club kindly agreed once again to allow us to use their facilities for camping over the weekend. Camping cost £5 per pitch for each night and will be collected by the club after arrival. For directions to the club, click here.
