Appointments

As staff are employed on a range of duties at any one time, the making of an appointment is necessary and should be made by telephoning the Local Land Charges office on 01284 757445 or email us Planning.Helpdesk@StEdsBC.gov.uk.

At least 24 hours notice is requested.

After making your appointment you should send a site plan either by fax or via email of the search site to the Land Charge Office. This will enable us to locate the records needed before you arrive. We will not carry out a Search unless we have received a location plan clearly identifying the property upon which a Search is to be carried out.

Three searches may be undertaken at any one visit (six if two hour appointment available).

Arrival

On arrival at the offices, go to Main Reception and ask for the Local Land Charges Section. Main Reception will inform the staff in the Local Land Charges office, one of whom will come to the reception area with documents that you require.

Fee

The current fee is £11.00 and this sum is payable by the person undertaking the personal search. Payment can be made when carrying out the Search by cheque. A receipt will be issued by the Land Charges Staff.
