Training in September 2011

This Project is going to run a course for service providers who need to work along with interpreters sometimes at work. 

AIM

To enhance the participants’ skills in providing a service to

non-English speakers.


OBJECTIVES

At the end of the course delegates should gain a practical understanding of:

1. Duties and responsibilities placed on Service Providers in relation to interpreting services (Contacting, billing, briefing…)

2. Impact of the Service Provider upon the non-English speaker (language, cross cultural communication…)

3. Good practice working with interpreters (role-plays, shadowing)
4. Role and responsibilities of interpreters towards Service Providers and clients (code of ethics etc)

5. Current interpreting qualifications and training

6. Key issues in accessing interpreters

The course will be held on 29 September 2011 at 46A St. Matthew's Street, IPWSICH,  IP1  3EP from 10:00am to 1:00 pm.  Any one who is interested in the training, please contact the ofice for further information and booking forms.
